Anamnesia is an archetypal sci-fi myth conceived of by resident Brainfeeder audio-visualist [dr.] Strangeloop. In the future, a utopian civilization is driven mad by a mysterious imbalance in the fabric of space and time. As reality comes apart at the seams, Anam, mysteriously unaffected by his civilization’s schizophrenic break, journeys through vast unmapped dimensions looking for answers to aid his dying world.

Strangeloop (Brainfeeder) will be writing, directing, and animating Anamnesia.

Mono / Poly (Brainfeeder) will be creating the sound-design and musical score to the worlds of Anamnesia. 

Micah Nelson, visual artist, will be designing the characters of Anamnesia. 

Leigh J. McCloskey, visual artist, will be providing textures for the world of Anamnesia.

Brandon Tay (Syndicate), a Singapore-based video artist will be providing compositing and visual effects work.

Gavin Gamboa, artist behind the Fields-tv.com experience, will be creating the Anamnesia net-narrative.

Dan Miller, visual artist, will assist in the process of coloring scenes for the film.

After the Brainfeeder 4/20 Radio session, I was so inspired that I went home, stayed up till 7am and made this whole EP thing. To me, it sounds in ways like another episode of Are We Lost Mammals … my first Brainfeeder EP. I almost didn’t know what to do with myself after the radio session, so many different musical influences all colliding … but was able to channel some of that inspiration here. So, enjoy!

The incredible Mary Anne Hobbs just featured an exclusive audio-visual edit from my ‘2010‘ project on BBC1, accompanying a unique mix of the soundtrack. ‘2010 : [or] How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Technological Singularity‘ is an ever-evolving avant-sci-fi narrative about a dystopia alternate universe where an AI-deity searches for transcendence in an archaic laptop. It had its International premier at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, and its Los Angeles premier at the Brainfeeder Sessions last month. It changes every time I perform it in a live-context, and it is composed of all-original music and visuals.

Some of the mandalic images were created in collaboration with artist Leigh J. McCloskey, the visionary painter behind Flying Lotus’s phenomenal ‘Cosmogramma’ album artwork. A limited edition run of 300 signed copies of ‘2010‘ will be available through the Institute for Cinema Studies, this run will include a full-version of the film, full soundtrack, b-sides, artwork, and more. The person who receives the copy number #2010 will get special unreleased material, b-sides, and the opportunity to destroy my television set. Enjoy!
